Hi All

Found my way here through a PM at another site...I'm a native of Saratoga County where I enjoyed life for my first 48 years. The last 8 years I've been in the Atlanta area...hate it. There is a strong possibility I will be moving back "home" in the not to distant future. But will be in the CNY corridor. In the mean time, you guys have been through hell up there and I need to brush up on all the new laws and since I have a pretty big window into choosing a county in which to live, may ask for some advice. The only good part about Georgia is the ability to enjoy guns with any size magazine lol. My concealed carry permit here took about 6 days to obtain! Anyway, love to hunt and camp the ADK's, and return often to visit our hunt club in Indian Lake.

I left in the 80's. I joined the Navy and got out of NY. It was the greatest time of my life. Unfortunately, the family dragged me back. My wife and I are retiring in 8 years and will start looking where down south we want to go.

I gotta admit the food in NY is great.

1. 3+ hours a day in traffic
2. Its too damn hot
3. Generally speaking, with the exception of BBQ, I hate the food...and no good pizza
4. Love the seasons and the ADK's...plus family & friends back home (as you know spring and fall are almost non existent...but summer is long)
5. Crime everywhere

Heat in the south is like snow in the north. You can't go outside for June, July and August and we can't go outside in December, January, and February. But at least they have air conditioned indoor ranges.

I never minded the snow...always loved being outdoors, probably what I miss the most. From MAy until now, its so hot and humid, hard to enjoy the outdoors. Some top notch indoor ranges here though

You just have to take off all your clothes. Just make sure you have on sunscreen.
