Gun belt

Wife and I went for a ride today, she decided I needed a new gun belt seems the leather POS I had broke. Second one.
Thought we'd go to Hanks Belts in Endicott. On the way I figured I better call them to see what time they close. Good thing I did, their store is closed, online store only now

Seems I need to shop online for one I might as well look for other options. A Hanks belt it gonna be $100.
What are you guys using?

I use a 5.11 1.75” operator for daily carry.

Crossbreed leather belt believe it is 1-1/2" wide. Been wearing daily for several years and is still holding up. Treat it with Obenauf's oil every now and then.

I'm thinking this time I want something with a steel core. I have found some on the web, haven't seen any nylon belts with a steel core yet. Hanks also has kydex core in some, haven't noticed that in nylon but I've also just started looking. I would imagine a kydex core would be better than just leather or nylon.

I guess if I used a belt holster I'd probably need something other than the Carhartt belt I paid $25 for 10 years ago. It hasn't been a problem with IWB

If you ever decide to try a stiffer belt, you'll be surprised how much of a difference it makes - even IWB.

Considering one of these. I do like traditional leather but I do like the lower profile at the buckle the nylon belts have.
Too bad they don't offer spare mag carriers, I could add one to the order and the chief financial officer would be no wiser to it lol.

Same here. I'm on my 3rd one in 5 years, the velcro wears out after a while, but I love these belts. Even got a comment on it the last time I went through the airport from the agents at the security gate.

Ive got a few gun belts.....Bigfoot steel core, Kore ratchet and a nylon with kydex one.
But, I always go back to my $8 leather belt from Kmart.
I carry either a glock 20 or a GP100 OWB everyday and have no issues at all.
The gun belts are ok but the cheapo one is more comfortable and holds the gun perfect.
But im also the guy that spent hundreds of dollars on high end leather holsters that were super thick and uncomfortable. I stick with my $50 DeSantis thumb breaks.
Heres my worn out belt that is super worn where the guns sitbut still holds full sized guns tight and comfortable.

The Kore ratchet I have is nice but my cheapo is just as easy for me. Ive been using a regular belt for almost 50 years. I also like the Bigfoot (aka..Alien Gear) steel core belt but it is too stiff so its hard to tighten.
The thing ive noticed is a lot of the guys I see using gun belts seem to use belts as an accessory..... they have tight pants and use the belt kinda loose.
My pants are 4 inches too big, I like them loose, so I use a belt to hold up my pants....kinda tight. So my regular belt holds the gun tight and close, no movement or sagging. I do realize not everyone likes a tight belt so I see where a really rigid gun belt would be nice.

Yeah, I like it tight too.Problem is when I use an IWB the holes in the belt dont line up just right, its either too tight or too loose.

I went with Kore Essentials. Their belts use a ratchet type system for tightening. You can adjust in 1/4" increments. They have tactical styles and leather styles. I went with leather.
The tactical is rated for 8lbs of gear and the leather for 6lbs.

Not sure if I want to go the X6 or the Garrison, which is 1¾ wide.

Ehh... I doubt ¼" will make that much a difference.

I have 3 of these and they work really well. I did not buy these for EDC originally but they do the job for IWB and OWB carry. I LOVE the magnet clasp and almost infinite adjustability and stretch for the times you go out and stuff yourself.
