It doesn't as long as it's legit. Listing posted USPS, didn't think USPS shipped firearms making me question said listing. USPS will accept shipment from FFL only. Problem solved.I dont understand what difference it makes who they ship it with.

Great information. I was wondering if this was possible.
By no means expert with this but believe there is more to it than that. For example can mail unloaded rifle or shotgun to another person to receive on your behalf for hunting out of state but believe same rifle or shotgun must be mailed to FFL if it is for sale. Subject to state law can generally mail unloaded rifle or shotgun to another individual within same state but this is no longer good to go within NYS due to unSAFE. Can't mail rifles or shotguns that are non-compliant with state law in sender's or receiver's state. Etc...FFL only for shipping handguns via USPS. Regular Joe can ship a long gun by USPS.
I don';t care who you are, you aren't mailing ANY gun or weapon or even a chefs knife at my local PO. The lady behind the counter is super paranoid and questions every package I bring in there. She probably asks about 5 or 6 questions about it and what's in it. Oh, she also closes the lobby for 2 hours in the middle of the day for her lunch break. It's unbelievable.By no means expert with this but believe there is more to it than that. Yes, there are restrictions and other laws that have to be followed but VERY generally, an individual can mail a long gun. I've sent several. Always with tracking and insured. After I receive a copy from the FFL it is being shipped to as long as that FFL will accept from an individual with just a copy of my driver's license. The only pistol I've ever shipped did have to go from my FFL.By no means expert with this but believe there is more to it than that. Yes no problem if going directly to FFL or manufacturer. I thought you were talking avg Joe to Avg Joe lol...Yes, there are restrictions and other laws that have to be followed but VERY generally, an individual can mail a long gun. I've sent several. Why do you find that unbelievable? As far as I know all small town PO's close for lunch.I know mine does.12:30 til 2:30Oh, she also closes the lobby for 2 hours in the middle of the day for her lunch break. It's unbelievable.
Completely ridiculous. You should see the place. Full of working people trying to mail something on their lunch break only to see the place is closed. How does the whole operation just stop in the middle of the day? What other company does that? None. There are 2 or 3 people that work there. Why do they all need to eat together at the same time? Why do they need 2 hours to eat a sandwich? They are there to serve the customer. If the majority of customers want to do business on their lunch hour they should accommodate them. Wouldn't get away with it at any other business. Why do you find that unbelievable? As far as I know all small town PO's close for lunch.I know mine does.12:30 til 2:30
Do you have a job? Do you get a lunch break? Their contract gives them 2 hrs.You make it sound like they are doing something shady.I know by me the adjoining towns have the same deal, closed from 12:30 to 2:30.Just looked at the office hours, its actually 1:00 to 2:30.Completely ridiculous. Yep but the whole place doesn't shut down so I can eat a ham sandwich for 2 hours with my buddies. You totally missed my points. Why do they all go on lunch together at the same time?Do you have a job? Do you get a lunch break?
Because they're the government, so they can say FU to customer service.Yep but the whole place doesn't shut down so I can eat a ham sandwich for 2 hours with my buddies. You totally missed my points. Why do they all go on lunch together at the same time?
Wouldn't get away with it anywhere else. Just another example of why they are such a failure (losing billions).
It's like if H&R Block was closed during tax season or if a doughnut shop was closed in the mornings.
Exactly my point.Because they're the government, so they can say FU to customer service.
A private business wouldn't exist long treating their customers that way, but the government DGAF.
Perfectly acceptable depending on circumstances.I take as long of a lunch as I deem needed....
Probably a nap after.........Do you really think they are taking a 2 hour lunch?
Believe that is due to change in law effective Jan 1, 2021... GunBroker now collects sales tax in states that have enacted Market Facilitator laws for Internet sales. I believe 8 states are affected. If you happen to buy product that is being shipped to one of these states GunBroker adds the tax regardless of what sellers policy is. They charge seller in addition to fees at end of month so seller needs to collect it from buyer or pay out of own pocket. So every seller now shows as collecting sales tax even if they don't actually do it on their own. Just had this happen to sale being shipped to ME. I am just selling personal items that have already been purchased at retail and not doing this for a living. No reason to collect sales tax but no option not to if sale is being shipped to one of these eight states as GunBroker is actually making assessment and collecting the tax.In Gbroker, always look at the sellers ratings before ordering. Always find out shipping fees. It seems they all list as collecting tax but that is not always the case. Search hard enough and you may find a tax free, and free shipping ,, and some may not even charge credit card upcharges..
Riiiight. Is that on the internet or something?seems like you would have a hard time with gunbroker.
Civil service at its best. What was it they call it? Oh yeah, white mans welfare
Hence why people hate them and they are going broke.Completely ridiculous. You should see the place. I got yelled at once at this PO I mentioned before because I had something in a priority mail envelope but had a pre-paid first class mail label on it. She said you cant do that. So I had to purchase a plain brown envelope and put the item in that and transfer the label to it. Then she threw out the priority mail envelope. What sense did that make? And if the label is paid for what difference does it make what envelope it's stuck on?Hence why people hate them and they are going broke.
I tried to mail something there with a prepared return label with insurance. They told me they can do that because they don’t know the returned value of the merchandise. I left and went to UPS and they got my money. I was thinking to myself are you an expert on the price of everything. I asked for $2,000 insurance for the way there and you didn’t even ask me what was in the box. It could have been a rock?
