Multiple FFL’s throughout NY are selling these weapons arguing it does not fall into the definition of a rifle, SBR, or pistol. Since NY law is silent on these other weapons it is presumed to be legal like a mossberg shockwave is. The reason the SCPD knows about them is because the owner and his son were arrested on weapons charges. How is it confiscation? He shouldn't have had it to begin with. Somehow it slipped through the cracks, and wasn't his fault, which is why he's. not facing charges. Now if you want to discuss unjust laws, that's another topic. Nothing wrong here and no need for buzz words and. getting people excited that won't read the letter or are unable to comprehend it.
Strange, the letter head says, "Accredited Law Enforcement Agency" on the bottom.
As for the gun, tell them that you sold it out of state.
I can tell you how that will go, banned under the safe act.I suppose the courts will finally decide the legality of “others” in NYS
Regardless the title matches what’s happening. They are asking for your property without compensation AKA confiscation. How is it confiscation? He shouldn't have had it to begin with. If need be bring the gun to your FFL held on, consignment, until things clear up.
I did this with mine when I got a dwi years ago. When I got them back the cop said it was a good move, because they were, destroying, guns in an average of less than a year. I had a one year probationary period. He did wonder why no one purchased any of them, I said me too at five thousand per each and laughed.
This ain’t me. I just saw this on another website. Some guys in Long Island who purchased DLDs from Jerry’s are getting these lettersI’d call a lawyer and make the gun compliant. Have the lawyer speak to the police.
As another said this is why I refused to dabble with an other and told people to avoid them.
If I had received a letter, I would damn well throw a mag lock on it along with a 16" barrel. I wouldn't allow a confiscation (that's exactly what's going to happen) on something I legally bought for over $1000
Yup, Jack booted thugs gotta do what Jack booted thugs do.I wonder if they'll still kick in your door, flash-bang your kids and shoot your dog if you tell them you sold it.
