Jerome’s permit was seized by police and because of the circumstances of the pistol’s disappearance, the permit will probably be revoked by state police, Conklin said.

This is meant for CT permit holders. If you get jamed up in CT you will most likely lose your NY permit too.

So, which is worse, the guy who stole the gun from the car, or the cops who stole all of them from his house ?

At least the guy had the decency to be sneaky about it. The cops probably made the poor guy watch while they took them.

No the law pertains to storing a pistol in a vehicle. Which is not a good idea in the first place.

@togmaster OK this seems to be a new gun storage provision. I'm assuming this does not prohibit concealed carry in motor vehicle by CT permit holder. I get if you intend to store in vehicle it needs to be in locked container. Thanks.

I don't know about Ct. But I know the local sheriffs deputies bring them in, I used to see them taking and bringing shotguns and AR's in and out all the time.

We sign them out every tour. And return them at EOT.
But we also have electronic gun locks in the passenger area, which require a button to release when the RMP is on. And is disabled when the car isn't on.
