Pretty sad, but settlements happen all the time. Probably a lot cheaper than fighting it and losing. It might actually be better that the case doesn't go to trial. If Remington loses (whichbin the woke age they might...) then yiu have case law that could take down the PLCAA.

Remington's lawyers have denied the lawsuit's allegations. In their request to dismiss the lawsuit, they argued there were no facts presented to establish that Remington's marketing had anything to do with the shooting.
Then why would you offer a settlement?
Maybe it won't be enough and the greedy lawyers will tell the families to reject it and continue the suit. Eventually it will wind up before SCOTUS and hopefully be thrown out.
I'm going to have to start watching commercials more closely to see how they advertise alcohol and/or vehicles or other products in case I get hurt while using any of them. Then I can sue.

I have a feeling its a financial decision for their bankruptcy. How much money are they obligated to pay if they go bankrupt and their is no money. A new parent company buys the name and assets on the cheap and they start pumping out new product with no obligation to pay the previous law suite. Any precedent is avoided. You pass any new fight to the new owners. How did NY going after NRA turn out?
