Are genders, races, etc. not supposed to be equal? I must have missed that memo. It's perfectly fine to be proud of being male, female, white, black, atheist, christian, short, tall, left handed, etc. I think though in the eyes of the law all Americans were supposed to be equal. The problem in the original article is that people just want to sue each other nowadays. Jeff Foxworthy used to call lotto the "redneck retirement" but I think lawsuits nowadays are driven by the "entitled retirement" group.

Some groups have been shit on quite a bit over the last few centuries. What you view to be percieved superiority is actually just finally having a voice. In fact, I am still not convinced Blacks, women, or LGBT are treated as equals in America. I'd have to be blind to think they were treated equally. An honest white male would say they aren't treated equally, but if it had to be someone being mistreated they'd rather it was someone else.
Lincoln was the first Republican POTUS, correct? Here is what he thought about equality:
