Gunsmiths / Armorers in NYC area

Quick question..

With the passing of Dino of Majestic firearms, we no longer have a gunsmith in the NYC area that can do more or less any work on any gun. I need some minor work done on my CZ Shadow 2 and the last armorer i took it to, told me that the Shadow 2 "is like a Swiss watch" and he didn't want to break or loose something in there.

So to make long story short, can anyone recommend an armorer or gunsmith in the NYC area who would work on a CZ 75 type gun?

Yeah. Pretty sad. He sure was the only real craftsman and the best at his work. Another cancer casualty..

I would look outside of NYC. Campsite in Huntington has armorers for Sig and Glock. I’m not sure if they can do CZ’s. I’d call them up and ask for Paul. That’s my go to place. There are others on the island like Doug from 782 (6) ?

No idea. They've had a message on their FB and the website about him dying, and also saying that they are trying to figure the future of Majestic Arms.

Yeah, Campsite is usually my go to place, i bought almost all my guns from them but they usually want to leave the gun there, etc etc but i need a very small thing done. I'll call them find out whether they can swap safeties for me on a CZ. I spoke Dark Storm industries on the Island, but they don't do CZ, only Glocks Sigs and HK

I would if it was something big, like actual trigger work or barrel.. or milling.. This is just to swap "flat safety" lever for the extended one...an optional part that comes with a gun. CZ told me that its a "user or an armorer level" type of job and doesn't require any 'smithing or fitting. I checked out some YouTube videos and i am pretty mechanically inclined and do most of work on my motorcycles, but the gun is just not something i want to screw with.

His wife is still running it, but I don't know how much gunsmithing they are doing. I do know they are still doing transfers.

IMHO, I’d stay away from DSI. Their mouths are bigger than their abilities.

Just spoke to Doug over at 782. The guy left a very good impression on me. We'll be seeing them this weekend. Also they do Cajun Gun and CZ Custom kits' installations so they are good with CZ75 kinematics, which is awesome.
