Meaning there will be specific amendments to be considered and not a cart blanc on the constitution. This is THE only way we will hope to see term limits for federal offices or a balanced budget amendment. This is the only way, short of revolution, to put the federal government in it's place and take it's power away.

Yes it's true. They are delegates sent by the state legislatures and have nothing to do with the federal gov. Legislatures that are not NY actually have their state's best interest in mind, believe it or not.

SInce I've lived in Utah, the state legislature has passed constitutional carry ( on top of other pro gun bills), are about to pass an income tax cut. They made it a priority to crush county level covid mask mandates, and they are fighting critical race theory in public schools.

I really wish more conservative NYers could get out of ny and realise that NY is a bubble of bullshit and not at all how the rest of the country thinks or operates.

It also says all spending bills must begin in the house.

The senate once took an unrelated dead bill that was started in the house, deleted all the contents, renamed the bill (keeping only the official number) and passed it.

So, don't be surprised when the democrats manage to sneak a repeal of the 2nd ammendment into a convention created to establish term limits.

I hope you are correct. I don't trust lawyers. There was no "right" of abortion until a group of lawyers on the supreme court came up with the phrase "emanation of a penumbra". I am confident despite clear guidelines for the convention some ambitious left wing lawyer will try similar word games to grab power.

Any law that doesn't have specific penalties for violating it is not a law, it's a wish.

What are the penalties for passing a law that violates the constitution ?

Yea, that's why we get fucked all the time.

Everyone who votes for a law that's later overturned should be personally liable to the entire country for violating their rights.

When they say "we can't do our jobs if we don't have immunity" then say "If you can't do your job, then you're fired"

Nothing good will come from an Article V Convention, even if the proposed amendments are designed to reign in the federal government. This would become the most disgusting display of corrupt partisan politics ever to take place in the entire history of the world, and on an unfathomable scale.

What if the amendments are to pack the court and eliminate the court? Would that make the Constitution unconstitutional?

The constitution doesn't specify the size.

Congress can pack it on their own with a simple majority in the house and filibuster proof majority in the senate (assuming that doesn't get neutered anymore).
