And there's no way to say with any certainty what "another" caliber would have done... .22's bounce around a lot and terminal ballistic data says the .22 is very effective, lol. The same data prescribes the .357 or other "Magnum" rounds to be the "most" effective... Why? The energy they transfer when contacting flesh, lol.
This isn't a debate unless you just want to ignore the hard facts and make your own assumptions. But for the matter... I'll agree that we are all making assumptions as to a predetermined outcome when that is unfortunate! I love to post this and it's been some time since I have, but it's worth a look.

Even though it effectively deflates my assumptions as well. But the OP's article about "one shot" stopping power is as I noted, just ridiculous and not worthy of debate.
