Harvest Right, anyone have one?

As the title says, I've looked on the web and seen good and bad but I'd like to know from some verified experiance.
So anyone use a food freeze dryer from them?

Did you get the small, medium, or large? Biggest question did you get the oil-less pump or standard and can you work them on the price at all?

We got the medium one with the standard pump. The oil less wasn’t even out yet. Hoping to get it running this summer after we find a place to put it. We jumped on a sale and then made payments. My wife plans on running the machine during the summer months when she is off......now we don’t know if she will have this summer off now lol

I know you directed the post to Jay but here I am. We decided not to get one for a few differing factors, mostly was the cost! You can buy a LOT of all ready freeze dried food (IDK maybe a years worth)just for the cost of the machine and then add in the cost to run it and package the food and I haven't mentioned the cost of the food itself!
The machine also needs a dedicated 20amp circuit, not happening @ my house without major electrical work. So that's why we didn't buy one.

The first freeze dried food I had was a LRRP ration, chicken and rice. It was as good as home made, The second was chili con carne and I couldn't wait for it to completely rehydrate, almost broke a tooth on a bean, but it was also very good. They were light, easy to carry, and would be my first choice for 'bug out' food if that was the plan.
Along with the freeze dryer, seems like you would need a vacuum sealer too, which we have.

@repete I understand completely. We considered similar factors and based upon what we do for preparedness, it would make sense for us. I'm actually looking a few places to see if there are any offers, and then we will be ordering it today.

@Robin We have a vacuum sealer, but the better option in my eyes for fast work are mylar bags, O2 absorbers and an impulse sealer. All of which are included in the price of the freeze dryer. If we wanted to go nuts, I'd start looking at can sealers. Which it may come to that at some point.
