Thinking about hitting up the Hauppauge Gun Show this weekend. It's 45 min away and wondering if anyone's been? Don't wanna make the trip and find out its a total flop.

Its a pretty good show, plenty of everything, rifles pistols ammo. Don't know what's so disappointing about it, it runs for 2 days March 11th & 12th.

I went to the Hauppauge Gun Show in 2013. There were some good things offered at decent to even excellent prices but most of what was offered along the lines of guns and ammo was, in my opinion, overpriced with some of it being a combination of being overpriced and crap. My review back then: BALLSEYE'S BOOMERS: The Second Worst Gun Show Ever...
If I am bored to tears this weekend, with nothing to do on Saturday, I may attend just to see if it has worsened or improved. I mean what is a gun junkie to do!

It's a crowded room and only ~1/2 the tables are guns (vs. accessories, harbor freight earmuffs, chinese optics, knives or jerky or horseradish cheese). Prices are pretty high, pistols are few and not really many unusual items for sale. DSI runs a decent spread for SAFE-compliant AR-15s and there are a few odds and ends of mild interest. It tends to be the exact same stuff show-after-show, so if you've been once you've been there done that.
If you have 45 minutes and 10 bucks to blow, then check it out but keep expectations in check.

Yeah I had a feeling it wasn't gonna be too great. I enjoy the middletown gun show quite a bit but am missing all of the dates this year.
I'll go check it out, keep expectations low. I usually just ammo hunt at these things anyways.

Almost a total waste of time. Guys selling Ammo for Gander Mtn/Cabellas prices and rusted crap overpriced guns. Got a sweet scope though.

I wouldn't bother. A lot of people were leaving pissed cause it was hot and cramped. Took like 10 minutes to make it down an aisle.

It was far too crowded, and the aisles don't fit more than 2 at a time. My kids were shoved a lot as a result.

Happy I did not go. It sounds like today's show was just as bad when I went to the same show a few years back. I complained about it back then and remember several people telling me I was nuts for saying it was a bad show. I imagine they either were dealers or friends of dealers at the show because the consensus, with most folks from whom I have heard, seems to be that that it is a poor excuse for a gun show.

Its kind of dissappointing to hear this considering the only other gun shows i hear of are all upstate and i dont have free time to take a ride up there, not to mention if i bought anything id still have to go through the city and thats never fun.

Try to get some time off for the Syracuse Gun Show. I have gotten a couple or few good deals on firearms at that one. Big show too, I think 1,000 tables. The next Syracuse show is in April.
There are also the shows at Middletown and Albany although I attended the Albany show in January and folks were packed in there like sardines in a can. Sold some guns to a dealer at a good price too but did not purchase any. I think all I bought was a t-shirt. I also heard tell that the show in White Plains is back, I may go to the next one.
