The IRS says, generally, taxpayers will first be contacted by mail numerous times. That way, the taxpayer should know they have an issue that needs to be dealt with. At some point, the revenue officer will show up -- possibly unannounced -- and provide two forms of identification. Both of these include a serial number and a photo of the employee. Taxpayers have a right to see both of these.
how do we verify .. ?? they no talk my language .. and i think i need 5 forms of ID to get a badge to ride in a airplane now LOL ..
the real issue here isn't that the Revenuer is going to show up at your door. The problem is, these assholes WILL MAKE UP WHATEVER NUMBERS THEY THINK YOU SHOULD BE PAYING.
They will literally tell you, "at your type of employment, you should be making *X* amount of money per year, therefore we will base your delinquent account on that number" and that number, usually is far above what you should have paid.
So if you want to avoid and encounter with these "makers of fuzzy math" just file A RETURN, weather you owe or they owe you, simply file a return
Nearly 1,600 IRS workers were found to have willfully evaded taxes over a 10-year period, including some who were responsible for enforcing the nation's tax laws, a government watchdog said Wednesday.
Federal workers and retirees owed more than $3.5 billion in unpaid taxes last year, a $200 million increase over the previous year, the IRS said Tuesday.
Maybe Lois will show up. Oh, thats' right, she retired collecting over a hundred grand a year plus other benefits that the average joe will never have, after she illegally targeted conservative groups for unfair treatment. A real swamp piece of shit and i'm sure there are many still on board.
