He doesn’t stand a chance.

Unlike Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting survivor David Hogg, Santa Fe High School mass shooting survivor Monica Bracknell knows her shit. And she ain’t afraid to tell it how it is.
“It’s not a political issue, it’s not a gun-law issue. It’s a this-kid-was-able-to-get-into-the-school-very-easily issue,” the precocious 18-year-old told Texas Gov. Greg Abbott before a service Sunday at the Arcadia First Baptist Church in Santa Fe, Texas.
With just these two sentences, Bracknell dropped more truth than Hogg has in the time since a suspect opened fire at his school in February, killing 17 innocent men, women and teenagers.
The shooting at Bracknell’s school Friday likewise left 10 dead, including eight students and two teachers. But local officials suspect far more would have wound up dead had the district not been so well “prepared.”
“We can never be over-prepared,” said J.R. “Rusty” Norman, the president of the school district’s board of trustees, referencing the district’s active-shooter plan and the two armed cops who reportedly patrol the school daily.
The district even reportedly approved a plan last year to arm some school teachers.

“But Santa Fe was still working on it, Norman said. People needed to be trained. Details needed to be worked out, such as a requirement that school guns fire only frangible bullets, which break into small pieces and are unlikely to pass through victims, as a way to limit the danger to innocent students,” reported The Texas Tribune.
The real problem, Norman argued, is that all these steps are “only a way to mitigate what is happening.”
What still remains missing is a way to actually prevent school shootings. For that, most conservatives believe we need to address exactly what Bracknell highlighted Saturday: the “this-kid-was-able-to-get-into-the-school-very-easily issue.”
