When you can build one for under $100 I think it's worthwhile for the benefits gained. I'd find it hard to justify $1000+ for one of the factory built ones but I also can't afford something like that. I certainly don't need one, but people in the area I hunt would appreciate it. I never had anyone bitch when they hear a shot or three in the middle of the night but have occasionally see a light turn on lol.
Oh certainly, I think the higher end suppressors would also become less expensive but I don't see them falling in price drastically. Quality always costs.
You can screw an oil filter on the end of your barrel and it makes a surprisingly effective suppressor.
Only a semi with a detachable magazine can be an AW. So all the "fixed mag" semis are GTG too.
Many of the high dollar ones are made of titanium and their baffle system is more complex that does make a marked difference in sound, but I think there is plenty of room for better pricing.
I've seen those on YouTube, did make quite a difference.
That's why I don't knock home grown suppressors, I have seen some really good ones. However I have also heard some not so good name brand suppressors, they were no better than a home grown. I have heard a couple name brand that had a considerable difference but I don't know who made them. It's like anything else, you can have a whole host of name brand barrels and some brands are just preform better with much better quality and design. I've never gone looking for a side by side comparison of all the available suppressors with a decibel meter seems it's pretty much a wet dream here. If it was to pass and be legal in NY I would definitely go home grown, but I wont hold my breath for even a few seconds.
Seems like that's the only way we're getting rid of unsafe unless there are some other cases I don't know about.
Your mouth to God's ears. I just don't see what a Trump administration could do to overturn laws like unsafe or Sullivan. We need a court ruling to are rights become permanently protected.
