Hey all

New gun owner in the Newburgh /Poughkeepsie/Kingston area. I recently got a cz457 22lr bolt action to learn fundamentals on, working on getting my 4 references for a pistol permit.

Been shooting at Davis, Master Class, Safeshoot, Blue Mountain. Looked at Whortlekill, Wooster mountain.

Any insight into any of the local rod and gun clubs? Any other good shooting spots? Any local meet up groups or individuals that want a new shooting buddy? Let me know!

Hey, and welcome to the Forum. A CZ is an excellent first rifle. I’ve got a few in different calibers and every one of them are well made and shoot extremely well , right out of the box.

@Varwin this may or not be to far from you, the old Catskill game farm https://sheepdogwarrior.com/ they do NRL22 matches beside others. The CZ rifle you bought is very popular at these types of matches, my Club has started to get into this type of shooting as it is not intimidating to new shooters and 22lr is cheaper to shoot.

Belated Welcome to the forums.
Went to college in Newburgh ( don't hold it against me ;)) and spent many summers work at the Mid-Hudson Valley Camp, now known as the Marist Brothers Center at Esopus. Beautiful area!
Now living in Central NY but Esopus always a special place in my heart.
