Glad I found this site.. everyone seems pretty knowledgeable and willing to share experiences. I also hope to bring the same value to the site with some of my experiences.. for now let me introduce myself..
I am an IT professional living/working in Westchester County.. had a NYC carry permit years ago working for an armored truck /security company while in school. moved onto the technology sector and surrendered the license. Never kept things up until recently when I decided to obtain my NYSPL which is probably two-three months away.
Yes, the NY Safe Act sucks and unsafe for all law abiding citizens. but from the looks of things it is only a matter of time before is abolished or modified to make more sense. Until then we do what we can to remain legal. (thordsen stock, fin grips, pinned mags, etc)
I have a few questions on the NYSPL as it relates to what is generally approved and provided, and what the process is to convert it to conceal carry permit.. (if there is one) but I will post that in the appropriate "Permit" section.. Till then, it is great meeting you all and I hope to this site remains super active for all to see/use.
