Help Finding Reloading Supplies in Hudson Valley

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and to reloading. In fact, I just received my reloading press. I was planning to start reloading 9mm for my carbine. However, I was so focused on reading about different presses and watching videos about reloading that I had no idea that I might have a problem getting powder and primers while living in the 5 Boroughs? I don't know if that's true because I'm basing this off one post I read elsewhere which didn't go into any detail at all. I thought this would be a good place to ask about it. So I have a couple of questions that I hope you guys could help me with:

1. Is it true that there's a problem with buying powder, primers, and bullets in the 5 Boroughs?

1. Are there stores in the Hudson Valley that sell powder, primers, and bullets so I can just walk in and buy what I need without it being a big deal?

2. Will online retailers ship powder, primers and bullets to the 5 Burroughs? If not, what can I do to get what I need to reload? And no, I can't move right now.

Any other information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. At this point, I feel I "Don't know what I don't know".

all i know .. i think its in the fire dept safety laws .. aka fire marshal on what you can have there ..ohhh o think that is just a regulation since they cant make laws lol ..

Many Hudson Valley gun stores carry powder, bullets and primers - Both the Davis locations and Master Class. The trouble may be finding a specific powder if you are picky about what you use. I recommend Master Class because of their variety and they are great guys.

That's a good idea. I'm not sure how many online retailers will ship powder or primers to a PO Box. It looks like Midway USA won't do it.

That's good to hear. So If I have to make a road trip that's no problem. I looked at Master Class online and saw they have a range. So it would be nice to make a day out of it. Go up and use the range for an hour or so and pick up my components. Best thing is no hazmat charges by ordering online and I feel better supporting a local business than some large corporation somewhere. Thanks for the input.

So I went up to Master Class a couple of days ago. You were right, I wasn't disappointed.

Spoke to Frankie and told him it was my first time there and that I heard good things about Master Class on NY Gun Forum. Told him I was just starting to reload and he set me up and answered my questions. Nice selection of components. I picked up another mag for my Ruger 9mm PC Carbine, used the range for an hour, met some other guys at the range. Had a great time.

They also had several Dillon Presses set up so I took a look at them. And the prices were better than I've seen elsewhere. At least from what I remember. You hear about these presses all of the time and I was surprised to see them set up in real life. I operated the handles just to see how they worked up close. Seems like nice equipment, but overkill for me at this point.

I definitely would go back to Master Class. I also would recommend them to anyone who's looking for a place to buy components or a range in the Hudson Valley.
