My kid has been a cop for a month and his sig has over 1600 rounds through it but I'm sure it's different for every cop.. just for the price range of this thread I like the cz 07 new in the box .

I have a few family members who are police they put like 100 rnds a year during qualifications thats it. Most cops dont shoot much. Some shoot alot , I have a few cop friends that activity train in firearms in thier own or in groups of like minded people. Deparments dont pay for unlimited ammo either most training is on them.

The Decocker is entirely modifiable. It’s just a 75 series sear cage. It’s a pain in the ass to put back together the first five times but that’s s out it.
Edit: Yes, unless you plan to SAO it.

I have bought a few police trade ins. All were carried lots and shot little. You can also get unissued police trades at big discounts. Holster wear doesn’t bother me. I just wish I was the one to cause it. A police trade .40 is a great deal if someone wants a quality gun at a good price.

For a range pistol. If your looking at a CZ a 75 could be an option too. Collectors in Hopewell should have some czs on the shelf if you want to put hands on one.

Soo, I finally got to hold and play around a czp07 and i was disappointedly surprised that it just doesn't feel well in my hand. I'm sure it shoots amazing but the ergo and the slide just wasn't for me.
But the good news, I talked to my wife how i was disappointed i didnt like how the gun feels and she agreed to raise her budget to around 850-900!!! to widen my options. Im thinking i might as well just go all out and get a sig p229 elite and i will cover the rest of the cash!
that decocker and slide stop as well as the low slide just wasnt for me for the p07. i loved the p10 more when i held it but dont want a striker fire at the moment.

I was actually looking for that at the LGS I was in! They didnt have one there so I havent really gotten to hold one yet.
From what I gather you can swap the trigger mechanism in the P30 kinda easily. So you can pick up a standard P30 and then toss in the LEM trigger..
I have yet to finger a LEM trigger but based on what I have seen and talking to friends that have had the LEM it is absolutely wonderful

The gun that felt best in my hand was a 1911. Unfortunately, it was the one that I shot the worst. The one that felt the worse in my hand was an ugly Glock. That was the one that I shot the best. Food for thought.

Buy the CZ 75 BD, tell the wife it cost what the SIG does, and pocket the difference. I actually like my 75 more than I like the P226 and I am a P226 fan from way back.

229 Legion or P30 LEM as others have stated. The LEM trigger is fantastic, but no brick and mortar stores keep them in stock. They for some reason only stock the typical DA/SA variant.
Try the FNX9 like someone else mentioned as well. Great trigger and ergos.

It is a striker fire pistol but consider the Sig P320, then you can buy all the caliber/size change options you want. Essentially having multiple guns with one Fire Control Unit.

I wouldn't mind picking up a S&W 5906 (finding 10rd mag's would be the problem though) as I have it's little brother the 6906.
If you cant find an LEM trigger p30 I hear that the triggers are super easy to swap out for an LEM

I ended up buying the sig p229 elite dark. Was tempted to get the legion but the additional $400 is a little too much.
I did play around with some 75s, including the shadow 2 (which is sweet) but also a bit pricey. Still liked the 229 the best.
Now does anyone here know how long the recent amendments take in westchester? Lol
