I have been looking at a Henry 17hmr. Not sure if I would get one or not. I have never owned a 17 hmr and not sure if I need one. Tell me why I should or shouldn’t buy one.

I have one it has never been shot. One day I will correct that oversight. Depending on where you are 17 HMR may be hard to get a hold of.
Sounds familiar; I have a Savage .17HMR that I've yet to shoot...I did buy a .17 Mach 2 (.22lr necked down to .177) shot it enough to zero the scope and there it sits.
The Mach 2 I bought because I had several boxes of ammo and nothing to shoot it out of...
Everyone I've ever discussed the HMR with loved it! Seems it transforms small critters into red mist and is astonishingly accurate doing so.

I have a CZ in .17 HMR and love it. It’s an extremely accurate rifle.
I have several 17 HMR rifles but I just haven’t taken them out to the range in a few years at lest 5. The Henry I have had for about 9 years I just hasn’t got to the range yet. I have a 17 WSM and a 17 Remington that are usually the 17 cal rifles I take to the range.

It’s an interesting caliber with very good ballistics. But I’m leaning far more toward a new Henry in .22WMR instead, simply for ammo compatibility with other guns, availability, and cost.
