Agreed. I have a Winchester 94 30-30 and I love that rifle. I would like to get a lever gun in .357 or 45lc at some point.Everyone needs a lever gun.

I did this to my Rossi 92 several years ago with great resultsSmooth actiohttps://store.stevesgunz.com/index.php?main_page=product_reviews&products_id=4n on the Big Boy in 357. Had trouble with the Rossi. Went down the road.
“Henry's quality is unmatched in today's world, I would love to have one, but I HATE, ABSOLUTELY DESPISE, a large(r) caliber with a Tube feed.”Henry's quality is unmatched in today's world, I would love to have one, but I HATE, ABSOLUTELY DESPISE, a large(r) caliber with a Tube feed.
now I see they came out with a side gate rifle, after I bought a Rem-Lin 45-70. I still love my Rem-Lin, but I would have prefered a Henry
I've always wanted a pre 64 Winchester 94. I traded for a 1973 model, not knowing any better. It's still an awesome gun and I love it. The pre64's have gone up so much in price though.YUP nothing like A lever Gun
Mine is A 1955 Winchester 94 30-30 20" barrel , steel butt plate. Weaver K3 60-B scope on a Williams mount.
Both gun shops I took it to said Probably never fired other than sighted in.. On line search said Could be A rare Factory mount/scope. Scope is like 95% or better , clear of fog.. Came with A small paper tag [ like old Gun shop ] and A cloth Grey gun Sock
I'd like a 94, old marlin 336, or even a Henry side gate, but I don't personally want brass receiver. I'm too rough on stuff for that.
Marlin 336 I second. Especially the JMI'd like a 94, old marlin 336, or even a Henry side gate, but I don't personally want brass receiver. I'm too rough on stuff for that.
If it’s reasonably priced I’d grab it ! They will only get more expensive .Local guy is selling a JM pre-safety 1894 in 38/357. I'm so tempted. Maybe I really don't need to make the mortgage payment this month
Definition of "reasonable" varies considerably. He's asking $1200 which seems to be current market. FWIW, I paid $500 for my JM pre-safety 1894 44 Mag in November 20.If it’s reasonably priced I’d grab it ! They will only get more expensive .
I agree and $1200 is FAR from reasonable.Definition of "reasonable" varies considerably. He's asking $1200 which seems to be current market. FWIW, I paid $500 for my JM pre-safety 1894 44 Mag in November 20.
For a fun/tactical rifle, I agree the tube feed by itself is not the best option, so with that said when I bought my Henry in 357 I made sure I purchased the newer version with the side gate loading, a huge difference! I have a cartridge belt and have even played around with shooting/moving/reloading as I move & pulled rounds off the belt, yes it's different and challenging but dam fun!“Henry's quality is unmatched in today's world, I would love to have one, but I HATE, ABSOLUTELY DESPISE, a large(r) caliber with a Tube feed.”
That’s why I got rid of it.
But I still have the little dandy sight adjustment kit.
