I have been hearing ads on he radio for a new place opening in Syracuse called All Seasons Outfitters and it is located in the same plaza on Erie Blvd that had a Herbs store. They had a soft opening on Tuesday and plan a grand opening on Saturday, so I stopped by there on Wednesday to see what they have. They must have bought out all the displays and racks from Herbs because it all looks like the same stuff, They only had about a dozen long guns in the display for now and they had a lot of empty shelves that they appeared to be stocking for the grand opening. Hopefully it works out for them and they fill the void left by Herbs going out. I have almost no where left to purchase sporting goods items since I have stopped shopping at Dicks, Walmart, and Gander Outdoors, Bass Pro is a long drive for me to go pick up a coat or new hunting pants. I would shop online but I have a problem with getting the proper size and hate to have to send things back and wait even longer. Anyone else know anything about this place?

No idea where you're from, but have you tried Runnings Store in Rome ? Lots of good stuff.. good prices on certain guns , than seen some way over priced.. but tools and men's clothes to be had also..

could try Runnings in Clay, but thats still a hike.

also @Harry Hood why not Destiny USA for shit? Probably closest for anything. They have a Carhartt store :D

I always forget about Runnings because I only get to that side of town about twice a year which is funny because I grew up in B'Ville and remember that area as farm fields.

As far as Destiny, I managed to stay away from that place for about twenty years until I had to go to the Oakley store about 5 years ago and haven't been back since. The place is a shithole.

Herb's is completely out of business. All Seasons Outfitters, a new store in Dewitt, is owned by the man who had owned/purchased Phillipson's. If you have ever been to Phillipson's, a trip to All Seasons will be deja-vu, same racks, fixtures, display cabinets. Stocked rather sparsely at present - should soon be adding inventory. Last 2 days of the Rome store sale, a friend bought two rifles, both $ 1.000.00 guns, (tag price) prices not inflated for final sale, 40% & 50% off. Still kind of sad to see them go - bought my first pack of fish hooks there as a 12 year old, 60 years ago. I wish him well on his new venture.

I used to like to get winter gear for my kids there. They did free alterations on pants bought there which my father in law liked ( he's a little in the shorter side.)
I also bought ammo there occasionally, mostly self defense hollow points while picking up FMJ at Walmart.
But mostly will miss their Black Friday sales. I picked a nice .22LR Marlin 795 one year and then a .22 Henry lever the following Black Friday, both for great pricea (taking into consideration that this is NY). Great shooters and a blast for plinking. I can't tell you how many friends and relatives I have shoot those and end up with smiles on their faces. In the past year I couldn't find any good ammo or rifle sales. Ah, well. All good things... I just wished I had also picked up that Henry US Survival AR-7 I had been eyeing for a while. My son would have loved it on his thirteenth birthday.
