Can't those rights be signed away in a HOA contract?HOAs have no control inside your home. They cannot enter without permission, let alone police what you have inside. It's highly illegal for them to do so. They're not owners of the inside property -- you're expressly the owner inside the walls. They can police the outside, not the inside.

They don't have the ability to control the inside of the unit. Even if they do get to decree something, they can't enter without permission and without working out a scheduled date with a home owner who would have plenty of time in advance to know they'd be there...Can't those rights be signed away in a HOA contract?
As much as such contract could compel you to sever fingers, arms, and feet. Can't those rights be signed away in a HOA contract?
Still don't understand how they can even have any power over the OUTSIDE of your home, or anywhere on YOUR property. You cannot "sign or assign" your rights away...
Let the HOA take action and lose including legal fees and that'll be the last one to try that shit!
When we bought out property out here the existence of an HOA was an instant deal breaker. Why do people let themselves be restricted by laughable wanna be tyrants like HOA's? HOA's only exist because there is an intersection between the human lust for power and just plain boredom.
I'd take that as a challenge. Since it's out of their jurisdiction, run a nice fence along the property boundary and paint it using tons of colors all puked together. When we bought out property out here the existence of an HOA was an instant deal breaker.
There was one nice 70 acre property we looked at, and while it wasn't in the HOA the houses across the street were. Even that counted heavily against that property for us.
That could be a fun hobby after retirement, but I've got too much shit to do now.I'd take that as a challenge. Since it's out of their jurisdiction, run a nice fence along the property boundary and paint it using tons of colors all puked together.
Like this but no wood exposed. Add in some horrible fluorescent.

That's pretty bad ass. Wish I could have a rifle range off my driveway. My ammo budget is glad I don't though, ha.That could be a fun hobby after retirement, but I've got too much shit to do now.
OFC, just parking my truck and excavator in the front yard would probably throw your average HOA board into a seizure, let alone the rifle range in the driveway so maybe.... View attachment 211872
