I was in the regulars for just under 7 years and made just over 29k for all that time.(included 4200 reenlistment bonus).Married the last 4 years of that time. As an E-1, I made under 1k for the first year at a staggering 42 dollars twice a month.

yes, yes they are careful with there wording. Also keep in mind how you are feeling is exactly what they want you to feel, betrayed and left out. They will then blame republicans or next election cycle they will say vote for us and we will do the same for you.
I equate this to the fast food workers getting $15/hour in nys and look how many people were pissed and thought I deserve the same or more. They create division and play physiological games.
The left is blaming the Republicans right now for shutting down the $35/month insulin thing that doesn’t follow the rules for how the bill was passed. If the democrats want to play reconciliation games if that part of the bill doesn’t fit then it doesn’t and it’s not the Republicans faults. I get it’s a bit different but I think it’s all about playing games to get and keep votes.

Yepper...over 70 and for Me it's an achievement when I read the obits and people a lot younger are punching out for various reasons. I suggest to all : retire as early as You can financially and get a hobby to keep You busy.

Thanks...it's hard to understand a "thank You" now when I and others returned from SEA and got spit at and called baby killers. Not to take away from Your genuine Ty but I have a hard time dealing with being "fashionable" vs 52 years ago. I mean no offense. I think a lot of credit should go to all the "sandbox" Vets as they were volunteers when most of Viet Vets were drafted.
Regardless of why one served or for what reason ( drafted VS enlisted) all deserve the recognition. I for one have thanked many veterans long before it was fashionable as my father ( also in his 70's , I was born very early in his life) served in Vietnam, and my children have and do serve currently and have had to play in multiple "sandboxes ". The fact remains that no matter what your political beliefs may be, a vet is a vet, and they deserve our gratitude.

I need to be done. The job has changed so much in the past few years. Not at all fun anymore. The crims are running the asylum. They get more Rights than the good people of society.
Yell, yelling at some of these people for too long will get us jammed up. Gods forbid, we put hands on them. Just not worth the full pension.
