Basically. H1B is massively flawed (AKA. intentionally designed) where they can say they can't find someone by offering a shit wage that nobody with those skills would take. IE. "Looking for DBA with 6 years experience and Bachelor of Comp Sci, Info systems, or similar. Starting pay $8.50/hr". Then they say they couldn't find anyone, they have to get an H1B for a worker "shortage". It's bullshit like that. Let's not even get into people doing the job already training H1B replacements for jobs that there "aren't Americans to do" but are obviously already being done by Americans since they are training their damn replacements how to do the work. Personally I'd never do that, I'd fucking walk and let the business burn from having nobody that knows how to do the work, problem is you always have that one weak ass pansy that would cut his own throat and give in to train them so he could collect a couple more months pay.

Agreed. Lot of soys in IT. I'm actually fixing to switch jobs soon cause I have some ethical concerns at work as of late which I cannot speak of due to NDA.
Also, I refuse to ever work for the gov. I will not do it, out of principle, since they abuse their power to dictate the personal lives of state and fed employees with mandates.

I know a nurse manager who has to work third shift for weeks now to train new workers because of this. She has no one. I just talked to a friend who lives in a rural county in NYS and they are shutting down departments and losing people.
There are not enough national guard members trained medically to do this. Also many have never worked in a hospital. I know one and honestly I wouldn’t let him stick my finger. I’d do it myself. The guy is clueless. He was a PA at a DRs office and was laid off.
We’re in some trouble for sure. I know a guy who is likely going to die in a hospital right now of a stroke. I’m sure he’s not getting proper care.

Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse will temporarily close 22 of its 35 operating rooms starting Monday in anticipation of a growing staff shortage due to New York’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate.
The hospital had already postponed elective surgeries as a result of chronic staff shortages during the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, priority will be given to surgeries that are medically necessary, time sensitive or involve critical-care trauma cases, the hospital announced Friday. Those surgeries will be consolidated into the 13 open operating rooms.
Upstate employs more than 6,600 people at its hospital in downtown Syracuse and Community General campus on Onondaga Hill.

There's never been any guarantee of not catching something from being in a hospital. Ever. In fact, your chances of catching something nasty at the hospital is pretty high compared to just about anywhere else. Hospital acquired infections are a serious deal that costs hospitals tons of money every year. They (hospitals) are constantly trying to mitigate the risk, but no matter the protocols, the risk is never, ever zero.
Nor did masks, lockdowns or the stupid bitch at work that sprays and whips down everything! Wake me up when it is time to crack heads.

I could never prove it was from there, but I developed a nasty infection that I dealt with on and off for 4 years after visiting someone in a hospital.
The last time it flared up, I spent a week in the hospital, ended up getting a PICC line and home IV antibiotics twice a day for two weeks. They caused a mild hearing loss and occasional tinitus
