Were they just suppose to let him go? Is there a dollar amount or age where its ok to throw a delinquent in the back of the car

Many departments have included a beard policy into the ranks. No reason not to allow officers to grow a beard. I just began mine....

The officers did nothing wrong. They were called to a theft, they arrived and took the little thief away. I would guess he was placed in cuffs due to the way he was acting. As usual, only part of the situation was filmed. Convenient as always.

When I was a kid in the 60's-70's if you did something small but stupid the cops took you home and talked to your parents. Back then if your parents were smart they dealt with the problem at home. There were usually two parents in the equation. The local cops had a lot of discretion as to how things were handled and knew who the repeat offenders were. Most kids were generally humbled by the experience.

Now a days lots of one parent homes with a parent thinking their kid could never do anything bad. Too many internet and TV educated armchair lawyers. Too many kids too smart for their own good. If you screw up, own it.

Back in my day I was a hell raiser and got busted doing something stupid and unsafe. The local chief put me on his "personal probation" and I had to report to the PD every Wednesday after school and every Saturday to wash and wax police cars and more or less hang out. I had to do that for a year, when that year was over I still went and hung out there and was good friends with the guys. Straightened me out and put me on the right path. Policing at it's finest!

Teaching CONSEQUENCES for ones actions at an early age just might break the cycle in a culture that prescribes to lawlessness. Obviously by the event the kid was caught up in. Thought he was being cool and one of the boiis until he got pinched!

Better to just book em next time, fuck being nice if it can't be recognized for what it is. Tough love would go a long way. There's no free ticket in society, but these miscreants think the rules apply to everyone else. And when caught breaking them that they should be given extra consideration because of their race or demographic! Sorry... But no!

Do they realize we wouldn't need police at all if everyone just participated in our social compact and didn't break the law? That they lived morally responsible?

I'm not innocent in that regard, but every time I did or have (broken the law) I was fully cognizant of it and accepted that I might have to face the consequences for my actions. I've since been absolved by a priest during my confessions for my sin! Lolz
