A new joint piece of legislation introduced by Democrat Rep. Grace Meng of New York aims to lower the voting age from 18 to 16.

H.J.Res.16 states, “The right of citizens of the United States, who are sixteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age.”

The bill also declares ‘The twenty-sixth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States would be repealed’ if the joint resolution was signed into law.
The Joint House Resolution has 12 cosponsor which includes Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib,Sean Casten, Lori Trahan , Suzanne Bonamici, Earl Blumenauer, Jamaal Bowman, Barbara Lee, Seth Moulton, Adriano Espaillat, Jan Schakowsky and Ayanna Pressley.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has told the Daily Caller she is in favor of lowering the voting age to 16.



“I myself, personally, I’m not speaking for my caucus, I myself have always been for lowering the voting age to 16,” Pelosi told the Caller in 2019. “I think it’s really important to capture kids when they’re in high school when they’re interested in all of this when they’re learning about government to be able to vote.”

1) If you're going to lower the age at which one can exercise a Right, then you're essentially lowering ALL of them.

2) You cannot "repeal" a Constitutional Amendment via a law. Open a Constitutional convention (if you dare).

Today, a 16 year old is fully indoctrinated by the system we all refer to as the education system. This bill is design to ensure one party (uniparty) rule.

Our system needs changes for sure an doff the top of my head, this is what I purpose as a minimum for voting.

Voting age of 18 years is removed and replaced with a minimum of 5 years work experience, participation in saving and retirement accounts of at least 3 years, home ownership or renting from someone other than a family member. An above 600 credit score.

Criteria For public service as a representative of government:

U.S citizen having worked 20 years or more within the current system and meeting at least one of the following requirements:

Saved for retirement through individual investing, 401k match or other retirement investment vehicle.

Raised a family and saved and pay for college or trade school for those children.

In addition to serving:

Willing, upon running for office, place ALL assets in a blind trust for the duration of that service to the people.



Just a rough outline and a guide to clean up the country. lol

This resolution is a proposed new amendment to the Constitution, not a bill. Would require ratification by 3/4 of the states. Not happening anytime soon, but they will keep trying.
