I am thinking of buying one or a couple right now. I think his shock test was faulty (truth is I want to test it myself and have some fun like that). The true test to see if it was shockproof was to put I on a 45-70 as he said not hit it with a hammer. If I don't sell my marlin 1895 GBL, I will test one on there, otherwise on my Savage 111 LRH in 300 WIN MAG. May take me a long time before I do it but sooner or later I will have some fun with these scopes.
Wit a minute - there is a less expensive scope marketed for the Ruger 10-22 on Amazon at $15 and change. Asking a few questions about that one because there is no description of it. I may order it instead.
My last experience with cheap scopes was when the wire in that common $40 Simmons scope dislodged from me merely pulling back a charging handle. Never again.
Although for $18 it does seem like a good deal and a spare Simmons I had has been fine on a .22. I don’t trust these cheap scopes to anything with real recoil.
