Take it even a step farther. Many have lost total common sense.

People die every year because they go in the ocean not knowing how to swim. They die every year because they go hiking in the desert in summer without water.
People walk up to dangerous wild animals in parks to take pictures. People hang over cliffs to take selfies.
People can witness a horrible event about to plainly and obviously happen but will have a complete inability to process it and take action to do something.
People have lost the most basic common sense and survival instincts.
I really go back to some of Calhoun's famous experiments about mouse utopia and behavioral sink and I'm shocked at the parallels that one can draw to current day western society.

Years ago I was on a prepper site. A person said he owned like a few hundred acres and his home was right in the middle . The land was flat and he could see every corner of his land . Made the claim if anyone set foot on his land he would kill them... His guns were sighted in. to do so....
When this time comes what will happen when a girl and child decides to sit under a road side tree on his land ....He kills them both ? ... Them what... Will the husband and father show up with 20 other family members ready to avenge this wrong....I can see 2 am a firebomb goes through the window setting that house on fire.... Waiting for said killer to exit. ... You kill someone for just sitting under a shade tree on a hot summer day ?

Yuri Bezmenov is the #1 reason I find myself second guessing my own assumptions at times and considering the idea that things are not what they seem. Even Ukraine. Those that have been around a while, may remember how the left was much more aligned with and friendly towards Russia during the 80's & 90's, while the right was opposite. Hell, if they wiped out all the gun laws tomorrow, I might even find myself suspecting the reason was to arm all the invaders they've allowed into the country. In any case, it wouldn't be out of respect for my rights.

That would immediately put people out of there homes looking for shelter.
I've decided as part of my preps, I'm investing in more fire extinguishers. The first thing I'm doing if all goes dark is disconnect my main power and check every part of my house for any sign of fire. If I catch it early, I have a chance.

I know what you mean. I try not to get too bogged down by details and try to look at things from higher elevation. Helps me keep my sanity.

We have essentially turned it off with modern "safety at all costs" culture.
We will either need to eliminate that, or we will become extinct, and that path to extinction is avery *very* ugly one.

The more the poles move, the weaker the field appears to get. It is claimed to be 3/4s of what it was in 1900. And it's crashing somewhat quickly.
1859 is the year the northern pole really took off. And it is accelerating. It is also that Carrington year. Nobody realized those two things coincided until a couple of years ago.
Curious that since then, so many polar position plots lately all seem to start at 1900, or relabel '59 as 1850. They didn't used to do that. All the plots from 2010 and 2015 all showed the pole getting flicked at 1859.

Trouble is that those that do have the means even marginally so, will have to fight off those that don't have any at all. That will cost towards furthering a small communities cumulative skill-sets.
This country pissed away all civil defense programs decades ago and that is area that many countries outgun us in a big way.
This goes back to my response a few posts ago. Not all men have what it takes to fully protect themselves, their families and their possessions.

I watched the video. He makes a few good points, some of his points made though, are not just about LEO and organizations. As for the point that he made about how cops are preparing and their families, non-LEO people I know are doing far more than the officers that I know.
I have not been to work for quite some time, I am not fully up to speed on department conversations at the moment. I do speak with a lot of co-workers about the happenings at work though.
My department has added extra people to different areas of importance, created a few additional positions as well. I do not think anything major.
I am not part of a big city department, things, I am sure, are different within different types of departments.
I do read a lot of what everyday people are talking about, the conversations are NOT good and positive.
