In regards to these Red Flag laws.
A couple of things that I would suggest:
If your County allows it, co-register your pistols with someone outside your home. Family member, friend, coworker.
Do not keep all of your guns in a plain sight safe. Prepare. "Hide" some guns. "Hide some ammo and extra mags.
Do not be arrogant and think this shit cannot touch you.

I cannot find anything pertaining to red flag gun confiscation. I suggest you email or call them them for clarification.

You can sell rifles to people out of state without having to tell NYS anything. You mail it direct to an out of state FFL. Where's that Ruger sir? I sold it to some guy in Texas. Who? None of your business. There's absolutely no way they can find out if you still own them or sold them.
That's why they want to pass universal background checks for the whole country. Because as it is it is pretty damned easy to buy a firearm privately for yourself and you wouldn't be on any FFL books.

Another way is to change your residence to a state that allows private purchases to residents of the same state, buy what you need to buy from a private individual, then decide that living in that state is no longer for you and then move back to New York.
Or build your own through an 80%.

I read the article and the comments, the comments are an indicator of why we are in this situation. So many internet rambos blaming this guy/group and they blame the NRA and they blame SAF and on and on. We will never really overcome this type of attack until we all stand together, to bad that will never happen. To bad it fall to the 3% or maybe 1% but that's the way it is.
