They stole the balance of her property in 1999 on a couple thousand in tax debt, and it only took her about 24 years to finally get "justice."
She's 94 now. She was about 70 when this happened to her.
I admire her spunk and fortitude for going the extra mile. She's an American with some grit. I truly hope she gets some closure from this, and enjoys her remaining years to their fullest.
That being said, real Justice would demand that those confiscating, ball washing assholes serve a long stretch at hard labor for depriving this woman of her property for more than two decades, and for violating her God-given Rights under our laws.
Justice delayed is justice denied, and criminal acts under the "color of law" that facilitate the illegal taking of property and the deprivation of Rights are nothing but "oopsies" when State or Federal officials do it.
The process is the punishment.
24 years grinding your life away in the crooked courts is not Justice, its a crime in and of itself.
Property Tax sales are still legal.............. after the county takes title.........rarely do the tax sale amts exceeded the actual taxes due, usually on almost worthless properties in cities, where the costs of demolition of a condemmed house, exceed the value of the land. On valuable properties.............like in this case...I suspect skullduggery.
Some cities demolish the decrepit house, and then sell the vacant parcel at auction, eating the demo cost, for the most part to get the parcel back on the tax roles......................on other vacant factories and old buildings, the taxes due usually exceed the value of the land and demolition or rehabilitation costs.
