I really don't care what they "want." Mark students absent and doc pay from staff. If it keeps up, and they flunk classes because of too many absences, oh well.

Actions sometimes have consequences. It's easy for these protester college students because despite committing unlawful acts, it rare for them to suffer consequences right or wrong unlike the real world.
Imagine if their student funding dried up as a result. By excepting federal money the university agreed to certain conditions. If the fed stops paying , you might see a few weeks of protest and such. If a few examples are made then the rest will either follow the law or show the resolve of their convictions. In the snowflake college culture, I don't have a lot of faith in their ability to handle actual life

It's funny you say this, because I have seen it first hand. I've been out of college for 3+ years now. I went to MVCC then SUNY IT to get my degree in civil engineering on the cheap (GI Bill covered it all but the last semester). Being older and set in my ways, I excelled at school. I can tell you the kids that excelled next to me were the conservatives. The ones that failed complained were mostly the liberals. It really was my first time interacting with that philosophy. I was shocked and appalled at the lack of self control and accountability. In all fairness I did meet some liberals that were down to Earth and responsible, but hadn't been off the parents teat long enough to realize that they were in fact close in lined with conservatives.

The libs are just grown spoiled brats. They have no sense of American history,and cry about everything that doesn't go their way. Unfortunately most come from well off families and will live off their parents until the parents die...then whatever is left to them.
My 2 cents is there is NO PLACE for safe or sanctuary anything. A law breaker..PROVEN law breaker must go through the judiciary system and held responsible for the consequences.

Cut off federal student aid/loans to any school providing a 'safe space', play dough, or therapy puppies for 'students" over the age of six. And stop providing educational funds for any program that does not produce, nationally, at least 8 jobs, like gay and lesbian hispanic studies. Yes, there was a protestor complaining she couldn't find a job in that field after all her hard work.

I once had a professor tell the class point blank, "I'm not your father. I don't care whether you come to class or not. You are paying to be here to learn. If you don't want to do that, it's not my problem."
I spent a lot of time in science classes as an undergraduate. We wouldn't have dared "walk out" on a mandatory lab section in chemistry, biology, or physics.

Their hubris is so great, that they don't see that no one of consequence cares what they do "on campus" - exit the legal "borders" of the campus, and I'm sure they'll be very dissatisfied with the accommodations or response from both LE and the public.

This is exactly what I tell my students. However, you are responsible for what occurs in the class, be it materials not in the book, an in-class graded item, whatever.
