If/when Joe steps down, he will pardon Hunter on his way out the door. No question. Most fathers would.

I expect the 4473 question to be ruled unconstitutional on appeal. The initial sentencing will be interesting. The feds have a formula that determines recommended duration based on a minimum # of months for each charge, plus enhancements for other factors. Federal judges typically don't deviate much, and doing so here would raise questions re: two tiered justice. Perhaps a suspended sentence with mandatory long-term rehab as a condition? Gets Hunter out of the public eye for the election, and Joe gets to play the sympathy card.

I've always thought the question was arbitrary and yes, unconstitutional, but it was drawn up in the 60's and symbolic of the times.
They are going to exploit his conviction as "no one's above the Law" but nothing of consequence will happen, and he'll quietly be pardoned.
The only Biden I don't detest is the dead one, but it would be hypocritical to not speak out about the Laws that lead to this conviction...Perhaps the Dems will see the idiocy and repeal, but I doubt it....still nice when one of their own takes it in the ass.

I have long stated that the Federal NICS check and attendant paperwork are unconstitutional and amount to nothing more than a form of a gun permit that forces the applicant to "speak" written words by coercion. "Fill out this form or no RKBA for you!" shows that NICS and the whole rotten system is nothing but a perimsion slip.

I admit that seeing Xiden's spawn getting hung up the unconstitutional gun "laws" his own father enforces and expands by fiat makes me chuckle. I probably shouldn't chuckle at that, but there it is.

I would also note that Xiden's spawn gave his weapon to someone to throw into a trash receptacle nearby a local elementary school. I'm thinking that ought to be a felony charge IMO. Therefore, I take that position that the man is criminally negligent in that respect, and should do time for a felony charge on that regardless of other considerations.

I do maintain that felons and traitors should not be allowed to the RKBA. However, in saying that, I am mostly speaking about violent felons.

Overall, I think there are way too many nonviolent felonies on the books, and that those are used as a bludgeon whereas a serious misdemeanor with real consequences (times served, fines, restitution, etc.) would be the best first step in dealing with non-violent crimes.

Of course, if we as a nation executed violent felons (murderers, kidnappers, terrorists, child molesters, rapists, torturers, and so on), then we wouldn't have to worry about armed felons, and we could concentrate our penal system better rather than housing the "life in prison" trash at the cost of billions and billions every year.

The punishment ought to fit the crime.

Crime begets crime.

Leftists say that capital punishment does not work to deter crime, but how can it when it is used so little as a mere token of so-called "Justice."?

Swift execution of clearly guilty violent criminals (after a fair trial and reasonable appeals) who are a menace to society removes the irredeemable threat of armed violent felons from our streets, because they can never commit their crimes once dealt with.

But the United States is peopled by weak men and women now, and thus our willingness to allow repeat offenders to commit heinous crimes over and over.

We all get no one wants to fill out a 4473 from and they are unconstitutional but Hunter is a horrible drug addict that’s not a person I’d want owning a gun. He’s a clear criminal and was careless with the gun and I wonder why he wasn’t charged with more but those are more likely state charges.

Didn't expect the 4473 to go away. But having an acquittal in this case would have put a giant stain on the form.

My perception (I wasn't there and no-one asked me to take part) is that this judge was fair and professional. Hunter had the benefit of being judged by people from his hometown whose demographic leans toward the Biden name and still was found guilty. The judge is known for being a hard sentencer so we'll see. The trial and deliberation was efficient and smooth. Hunter was allowed to speak and go to events with no hinderance. No gag orders, no subjective added rules, and we knew the charges from the beginning. With all the word twisting that went on, the base fact was pretty cut and dry.

It was nice to see the Laptop was verified as evidence.

The Three Trump Trials, none of the above applied or is true. I'm glad they were close together (even if by method). The contrasts are amazing. We'll see how the tax thing goes. I think that is in California. I'm sure the Laptop will continue to be an exhibit and will be referred to.

I'm not sure anyone on this board wants a criminal or nut job to have access to firearms. It only hurts those of us who use and own them responsibly. The form does need to be protected as you indicate. Of course, NYS feels it wasn't good enough and added their own layer of requirements (and collecting) to the process to add more work for the FFL. The form still has to be done in NYS as well as the NYS requirement. None of which add better controls or speeds communication between agencies. None of which can verify what isn't documented (history and tendencies of a minor, protected demographics).

if they are out on the public streets they should have all their RIGHTS

or be locked up or in a mental hospital

the one on the streets have them anyways so having 25,000 GUN LAWS is ridiculous that effect us on this board ..

and not allowing us to shoot them is ironic ..

but hell its NYS .. if you shoot someone and it was a good shoot , no charges ,. but wait you forgot to renew your pistol permission slip ..

your under arrest ..

You're right, i want the criminals and nit jobs locked away so the rest of us can enjoy life.

The 4473 does nothing to prevent crime. It only jams up law abiding citizens.

We’re all well aware he’s not perfect. I’d argue the exact opposite that he’s essentially done nothing right, especially not the way Hunter was raised.
