Hunting Tree stands

Looking to buy a ladder tree stand for the next deer season. Any recommendations? For bow / rifle and a 2 man would be better. Seen a lot of junk out there wasn't sure what to purchase.

My first was a 2 person stand. I'll see if I can remember the name. Sits 20' high. I like the view and feel most are too low to the ground. Has been stable and worked well for around 4 years.

I'm almost certain it was this one.

I'm around 6'1" 265lbs so it fits me nicely. 2 very small people would most likely be snug.

I've been using Rivers edge tree stands for years.
We have multiple single and two man stands on our properties.
Regardless of the stand brand you buy, a curtain/skirt is a must have for concealment of movement.

This has been my type of stand for many years.
Last year a damn squirrel built a nest about 20 feet from my best stand.
The squirrel stood on a branch near his nest chattering at me last opening day.
The nest is no longer there.
On a side note.....later that day I ended up shooting 2 does at the same time.
So I guess the squirrel helped me that day.

Just make sure you get one of those rope systems so you're attached to the tree the moment you leave the ground. I mean, at least I recommend that. In truth I have access to one and i don't use it. I climb the ladder and then I strap in. The risk with that is if the stand breaks before I'm strapped in I'm kinda screwed. When I use my climber I start strapping in after around 6-8' since those definitely have a tendency to slip out from time to time while climbing or descending.

I have a couple of the cheap Ameri-step 2 man ladder stands I bought at Walmart when they had them on sale for $79. They're about 5 or 6 years old now. still serviceable

For years we’ve always used Rivers Edge and Guide Gear two man tree stands when we were bringing our young children out to teach them how to hunt. They always seemed to be the sturdiest of the bunch out there. Not to mention plenty of room. Making sure that they are correctly installed is key to comfort and safety.

This is likely on my purchase list this year as well. I need to get up higher. Many deer side stepped me by 10-15 feet or were in the thick brush below me and I just had no shot.

I was using ground blinds for the longest time but its very limited on your shots. The ladder stand will broaden the view of the area and hopefully be less obvious to the deer.
