I purchased a Weatherby Element 20GA off gun broker a couple months ago. Nice shotgun but I didn't really like the gray synthetic stock. It would have been fine black but the gray made it look like a toy or something to me. Ordered a dip kit from mydipkit.com. Figured what the heck I'd give it a try. Took me 2 tries on the fore end and 3 on the stock but I think I got it right this time. Now I know why they say to practice on something first. Just have to clear it when it's dry.
Nice job. It does take a bit of getting used to. A good friend of mine used to dip recurve bow limbs And risers on the side. This was one of his favorite patterns.
From what I could tell from my very limited experience. If you can just dip the part only needing to get one side done it would be very simple. Having to do something like a shotgun stock and having to roll the part with out getting the pattern to come apart in the water was what I was having the hardest time doing......It isn't perfect but I am happy with it so far. We'll see how it looks after I clear over it....
