I was there as a spectator. Had a great time and got a lot of unintended exercise following the running fight.
That sucks!!! Would have loved to have met up with you!

This was at the Newark Valley Apple Festival this past weekend. Twenty years of tradition (echoing hundreds of years of tradition) flushed down the toilet by New York politicians.

"OLD HICKORY LONG RIFLES"
On September 15th, 2022, a new law became effective, in the State of New York, prohibiting the presence of firearms at public gatherings.
The Newark Valley Historical Society blessed the "Black Powder Guild", with free choice as to how we would proceed.
The "Black Powder Guild", not wishing in any respect, to risk the great work and dedicated effort of its many fine members, will not offer or demonstrate their muzzle-loading firearms, as has been the practice for the past twenty years.
We the members of the "Black Powder Guild" and the Newark Valley Historical Association, deeply regret and are very disappointed in this lack of service to the attendees at this event.
Next year we expect to serve you with interesting and historical entertainment. as has been our past practice.
WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOUR CONTINUING SUPPORT.”

Problem is that half the reenactors are liberals and agree with it. You'd be surprised on how many of them fight on the liberty loving side too! The irony and oxymoron of that is staggering lmaothey all should be contacting GOA and FPC about this issue ..
