I can buy pants made in China/Vietnam for $30, or I can buy similar looking US-made pants for $150.
People would generally rather have more Chinese-made stuff, than less American-made stuff.
Folks will tell you to support America, but there they are in Walmart buying carts filled with China junk.
Perhaps we ought to consider buying one pair of US pants instead of 5 pairs of Chinese pants.

NYS doesn't give a fuck about you, your business, or your employees. All they care about is taking care of their own interests and passing laws that further their political needs.
The mind set of the left appears to be that profits are both evil and permanent. So they keep piling on regulations and increases in the minimum wage. In their minds the only people that get hurt are business owners, who are awash in ill-gotten gains and deserve to have less.

See how happy those eliminated workers must be now that the minimum wage is $15.

The wage for a job is a civil contract between an employee and an employer. If the employee is willing to accept a salary for a job, fine...they can be hired and they work. If the salary is too low, then the employee does not accept the salary and the employer needs to raise the amount they're willing to pay for the job. It is purely a market dynamic: The job is worth whatever someone is willing to accept to do it.

And they're pretty awesome, too. Any time I go in there now, I automatically head to the kiosk, instead of the register. It's faster and easier to get an order (or a custom one) through the kiosk. So easy, and so nice.

so it's not surprising that more and more people and businesses will be leaving the state. I know one construction company that left last year for N. Carolina. he took four employees with him. (they are outstanding craftsman)

All 5 Rochester area Papa John's were owned by 1 franchisee and he closed them all the day after Easter. He said he couldn't hack the NY State BS regulations and taxes anymore.
NY State is pretty bad, but nearly all of the States are doing very similar to what is happening here.

its also a scenerio if you think about how much of that new 15/hr is the employee actually seeing as their portion of payroll taxes increase too. I think its a way to fill uip tax coffers than better for the people.... I mean again a good portion of that new 15 per our is now the new basis for the employees share of taxes too......so its all for them..NONE of it is for the people nor you as the business owner. take your business across the state line and sure it woud be a but better...NY not business freindly...its just a juicers to empty your pockets and for the state to get as much as they can get away with... So not only is your payroll taxes going up but so is the employees...to whose benefit....the states...no why not raise min wage...

Your correct that's the way it's supposed to work .Problem is, once again, globalism. Company's are bringing in forgien workers by the shit ton. That's manipulateing the dynamic, and keeping wages artificially low. If there is a shortage of workers they don't raise the wages they bring in forgien help. They are screwing the American worker. They are bringing in millions of workers from 3rd world countries .free markets must have governmental checks or it will consume itself .The government puts checks on defense contractors to protect itself .Nobody gives a flying fuck about the American people .

you would be correct if you're talking about the H1B VISA program. However, those jobs are typically high tech jobs, and yes they are screwing over Americans left & right. My brother-in-law was screwed by this program But what this thread is about is small business and the minimum wage. Many states have instituted a $15 minimum wage, it has not gone well for them. Small business (anything less than 50 employees) is going to take a beating by a minimum wage. Consumers will be paying more for goods and services.
Nothing good can come from government redistribution of wealth.

Has nothing to do with min wage.The guy had fines and back taxes on top of a mess of legal fees.Mostly all his own fault.I know NY sucks for business and all,but there are plenty of functioning pubs in the state.This guy fucked himself by serving underage and not paying his taxes.The legal fees,I assume from a case he lost,put him over the top.

I Hear you, We are almost in the same place. The company I work for has a fleet of truck also .NYS, the counties we work in just nickel and dime us to death with fees and tariffs,licenses, permit fees ,because our building property is over 10,000 square feet.we have to have a "site sources separation policy " "Recycling program" for everything we deal with, that meant an extra can in every ones office, extra barrels thru out the building labels for what product goes in them. A written Procedure that has to be updated and approved every 2 years (for a fee) I used to take the bottle and cans home to put in my bin, they don't me I cant do that I have to get a receipt to show were are recycling the cans and bottles. Now I have to pay to have my people run them up to our recycling place to get a receipt we dropped off some stuff. if just un-explainable. I don't even want to tell you what we have to pay in ez pass fees for vans that should be free ,but get picked up by there scanners as larger trucks .There will be no more enterprize in NY , it will be just like they want a single source employer with every one on the doles .

You know what your sayings not fair. I am a NY conservitive that been voting that way with all of my siblings, and my entire family ,Wife,Son,Daughter have been voting the same since we were able to vote. Unfortunately in NY we have the block vote.
We all have witnessed the block vote in the governors race. So please don't say its because who we voted in ,almost the entire state of NY voted for rob astorino ,but the 5 boroughs and Rockland won the election for Monkey face. ITS POLITICS at its best. I was actually working in the village of New Square (a Hasidm community in Rockland County NY) on election day when Hillary was running for senator as the cars were driving around the village telling the people where they can get on a bus to go vote , Some place I still have a flyer from that day telling the people in hebrew who they were voting for.
