so while seeing if there are any other leads on a stripped Gen 4 G19 frame (because saving $40-60 over many months vs should have just sent it out paid the $108 waited the 2 weeks and figured out the shipping cost) i came across a stupid baby G43 stripped lower....... $30 and i know the rest would add up in cost for a gun i not only care about but also have no use for ..... but 30 fucking monies? i really want to say cant pass it up but i just might but i also dont want to

oh well just passing on some info if anyone wants for some reason a G43 stripped lower well you can find them for $30, but Gen 4 G19 (which has been out for how many damn years?) yeah sooo um $79-100ish if you can ever find them in stock

this place i guess gets them from time to time....... the main reason i kick myself for snagging a gen 4 is the lack of lowers, gen 3s can be found all day but not gen 4s (i'm optimistic that this will change now that the gen 5 is out)

i am on the wait list for when they get a new batch of 4s in

No, but like an AR you can build it over time. Or if you plan on building one out, you can save money by not buying hmm g stock parts only to be replaced by aftermarket parts down the road. Preference really

I ask because when I get settled in the new house I hope to start a new build. I don't care for the finger grooves so I would want a gen 3.

Gen 1 and 2 look very similar, no finger grooves only difference I can remember is stippling, probably a few other minor changes, cant remember off the top of my head,

Gen 3 added a rail and finger grooves (and again some other differences but those are the main ones)

Gen 3 RTF new awesome stippling and should have been kept.

Gen 4 addition of interchangeable backstraps, went from 2 pin trigger to a 3 pin trigger, stupid little bump on the trigger bar (can use gen 3 trigger bars, they are nicer) and a dual recoil spring like the g26 was using

Gen 5, no finger grooves, weird combat cut, small flared magwell, 2pin trigger, all new innards, new rifling

Gen 3 slides will work on a gen 4 frame, gen 4 slide will not work on a stock gen 3 frame
