I just heard a bunch of gun shots and its awesome...

It's 9:10 pm Friday night and some dude that's kind of close to me is doing some
"New York" mag dumps. -- (10-11 rounds )

But still, it sounds cool as fuck. I like where I live and if someone has to live in New York State.
There is a redneck bubble in Western Genesee County and that's the place to be... LOL.

It's not uncommon to hear gunshots around here day or night. At night though it's usually only a shot or two maybe three. And that is obviously someone doing varmint control, namely coyotes.

But someone is letting em rip tonight, and I love it... America!
I figure some guy on the next road over is probably finished working on something and can't wait to try it out. You all know how that goes.

You know, now that you mentioned it. I should have... Doh!

There was a time back in 2013 shortly after FUAC signed the NY UNSAFE Act into law. That there was communication put out to fire your gun on the same day at a certain time as a sign of protest... Does anyone else here remember that?

Anyway, when the time came I fired off a round and so did some other people around this area.
But what surprised me was how many gunshots that I heard. I expected a few others but I was impressed with how many others played along. I think we all went back into our houses with a smile on our faces that day.

I can remember back in 2019, on the 4th of July, shooting on a friend's property and suddenly hearing other people shooting on a nearby property as well. It was awesome.

Before Covid there would be non-stop gun shots on weekends (and some week nights). I was part of the noise making. I used to have friends come over and we would blow off 500+ rounds at my range. Now with ammo prices high and NY making you donate your left nut to get some, it is much quieter. I still try to get out, but its 50-100 rounds now since I shoot mostly reloads. Not many come over because they don't want to shoot all their ammo up. Same goes for the rest of the town apparently because the sound of gun shots is less frequent.

I do love hearing guns in the country. Where I am in Livingston County I have 2 gun clubs within 3 miles of my house. Depends on which way the wind blows I can always hear at least one if not both.

It's really refreshing to see how well the NY gun laws are doing!! Our politicians are masterminds!! Can't take our guns YET so they back-doored us and attacked the supply chain. Brilliant! Working to perfection.
BTW, I wanted to thank the NRA to fighting for us against the upcoming ammo cluster-fuck. Thanks NRA!!!

I hear people practicing around here every day.

One of the new people around here brought it up in the neighborhood chat room. "Why is everybody shooting around here?"

This thread got me to remembering years ago at Ft. Sill "Home of the field artillery". I used to love laying in bed at night and hearing the howitzer's firing and then the rounds going off, watching the illumination flares was cool too. The wife and I would sit out and watch them drift over the impact area, real romantic LOL. Good times!
