Pro tip. Go to the range the evening of opening day for deer. Fudds rarely police their brass. Opening day eve is good also.

Well you should be looking at new or once fired brass. You have to watch out for brass fired out of semis like the M1 Garand as it tends to get chewed up around the rim. Most of us on here who have '06s reload.
For my 700 I buy new brass or just buy ammo. For my Garand I will either use 3-4 times fired out of my 700 or buy once fired brass. It does not make sense to buy new brass for my Garand, they only last 3-4 firings anyway.

I've got some surplus 06 brass. Unprocessed, un cleaned, it's once fired bc the primers are still crimped in it. I've got a bunch of that. I might be able to scare up 100 or so pieces of commercial 06 brass. Idk what it's worth. PM me if you're interested.

Hi,
Yes you can make brass from 30-06 but will be a tad shorter how much depends on what you start with but it will work.
Might also need to turn the necks to take off the excess and for consistency.
