She is not in line for VP at all.
She doesn't get promoted to VP just because the spot is vacant.
VP would remain vacant until Kamala named a replacement or there was an election.

If it were months left on his term the Dems would in fact have to impeach him. He is totally unsuited for office. At this stage in the game however he has no power anyway. If we had a real crisis anybody he supposedly commands would pat him on the head and say it’s going to be okay. He has no ability to do anything with nuclear codes, martial law, launch attacks, etc. he would just be ignored, and if he tried to throw his weight around pence would have no choice but to exercise the 25th.
