I think I own two Bald Eagles

Im at camp, we have a couple Bald eagle's around, along with a few Osprey.

Ever watch a bird of prey snag a fish? The hit like a missile, and when they take off from the water, they get a few feet in the air and they kinda stop, flutter their wings to shake the water off, and then they turn the fish, head first into the wind. They seem to know aerodynamics

We have Tern's also. they are much smaller, less than a third the size of a Eagle or Osprey, and they dive for fish the same way. but from less than 20 or 30 feet off the water, BOP dive from 50 feet or more. its fun to watch.

if the DEC finds out you have nest nearby, use caution. A ranger may show up and make sure you and no one else is bothering them. I had a customer in South lima that had a nest about a ½ mile from his house. The DEC boys were making regular rounds to see if anyone was trying to get close enough to film them. they take that shit seriously. Just saying?

Lol, I mow nature trails in my creekflats and the eagles wont move. I literally stopped mowing under the tree they perch in so I don't get shit on. I also have a shooting range in the same 9 acre lot. I shot 150 rounds yesterday and the birds don't move. The neighbors that live under the nest are complaining about the mess of birdshit they leave.. ohh and they seem to be responsible for a little pet dog killing last month and I've also heard of missing cats.

I've seen a few Osprey carrying fish bigger than I've caught up on the St. Lawrence. They're insane.

I've seen a few Osprey carrying fish bigger than I've caught up on the St. Lawrence. They're insane.

In my area they have made nest atop every cellular tower.
