I want a gun made in 1933..what should I buy?

My grandmother is getting up there in age and her health is failing so at some point I thought it would be nice to add a gun to my collection that was made in her birth year (1933)

Any suggestions? Pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun are all fair game. My first thought was maybe a colt detective special or a 1911 but totally undecided.

I love my ppk. It’s a bit younger than you are looking for. It’s from 1935. If you try to go the PP or PPK route, a serial number guide is attached.

I have a Winchester 52 pre-A that was made in 1930, There are still a lot of them around they were known as the King of rimfires!

I beleive the stock is a WW2 replacement, but the rifle looks very nice with matching 1933 -marked barrel.

S&W outdoorsman... My father had one that I have I now ... .22 cal . They were made in the 30's... One can use the serial number to determine the date of shipment. and at times mfg. ... They are an excellent handgun.

I'd go with a Smith & Wesson revolver.

Maybe a .32 - lighter and cheaper.

Revolvers are easier on old hands, and old ones especially have a vintage look that seniors appreciate.

I know it's not FOR her, but it could be.

And dating S&W's by Serial Number is super easy.

And a sound investment.
