Sooner or later the judges in this country will start getting tired of reversing all these unconstitutional infringements the states put upon us and the Supreme Court will finally rule on the "shall not be infringed" part.

A county judge? Have we all forgotten on the left works? Business as usually until a SCOTUS ruling and then, like NY, IL will ignore it and pass restrictions on where you can posses one through a permitting process that if violated results in a felony conviction and loss of the 2A right. For us it's repeat the appeal all over again. This is the strategy and it is working.

Illinois Supreme Court will almost certainly reverse, unless another case on point makes it to SCOTUS first. From there it’s a writ of cert to SCOTUS with nationwide effect if they grant it, but likely to wait in line behind other cases in the pipeline.

Interesting choice to go after this in county court rather than federal district court. A 2A case can be started either place. In federal court you have an appeal as of right to the federal circuit from the district. In state court it goes up appeals to the highest state court before you can appeal directly to the US Supreme Court on federal issues if they take it, which they rarely do.

I agree, and while hopeful I think, if your referring to the 20th of March hearing date I'm taking a "long game " approach. I feel certain that if ruled in our favor I nearly guarantee an appeal to an en banc panel of more judges of the second. Basically, this won't be over this month as thier goal is to prolong this as much as possible and another appeal does just that. They don't want or care that;
It's already unconstitutional
It's costing the taxpayers tons of money
It's unwinnable.

They only wish for it to last as long as possible, and for us to suffer as long as possible, be dammed with facts, as they don't believe they need them. While I'm generally happy about NYSRPA VS Bruen, Kavanaughs addition writing is the coffee stain of it all, allowing this to continue. We already had the majority in the ruling even if he voted against it ( would have been 5-4 VS 6-3) so if his vote for the case was contingent on winning it I would have lobbied he voted against it to avoid all this BS.
