I may be picking this up. Shouldn't be any problems with safe act other than having to pin the mags right? @Bullet Guy
I'm tired and didn't even think of the grip doh!mag would need to be fixed and pined for 10 rnds .. its got a pistola evil grip
Thanks, I've been doing a bit of research on mag locks and see how it's done now.You can take the rear frame pin out, remove the frame, then load the magazine that way, I guess. Those pins can be kind of a pain in the ass to get out, but top loading can be done.
Maybe getting a steal on this, anybody know if an uzi can be top loaded?
Why do I want it? Just because. A friend bought it in the 80's before they stopped importing and I never got around to getting one.

From what I gathered, an uzi just needs a grip panel replaced so you can't get at the mag release, not too big a deal.Coming from a guy who neutered and sold some great pieces to avoid registration, I wouldn't be able to bring myself to harm this one. Let someone in a free state enjoy it.
How about a grip wrap or shroud? From what I gathered, an uzi just needs a grip panel replaced so you can't get at the mag release, not too big a deal.

All you have to do is pull the rear pin on the frame, slide 1/2" to the rear, so the the frame comes out, and load the magazine. You don't have to pull the bolt or top cover to load.No. The top is where the bolt, spring, guide plug, and cover are. You would have to disassemble the weapon to gain access to the top of the magazine. Are you absolutely married to the idea of conforming all of your weapons to the SAFE Act? Destroying an original IMI is sacrilegious. If you are going to trash something for SAFE compliance, trash an old Norinco upper and not an IMI.
If it looks like anything I have to bastardize I will not buy it.No. The top is where the bolt, spring, guide plug, and cover are. Yea. What's the point? If it looks like anything I have to bastardize I will not buy it.
We'll see when I get around to looking at it. It would be pretty much a collector piece, they are selling for pretty good money now. I don't need it, but have always wanted an uzi.Yea. What's the point?
???HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

We shall see. My buddy bought it when we were kids. I ask how much, he says he thinks he paid a few hundred bucks for it.I'm not sure I would blow $2.5K on a safe queen; and semi's are not collectable in the least. Even Class III's aren't worth a ton. I sold my Model B, Model 45, and Mini to move to NY. All three were bolt guns; and I think I got $7,500 for each of the B and the 45 and like $9K for the mini. And the mini was only worth more because Vector Arms cut the top so it could also fit in a micro. If you do get it; I wouldn't alter it away from original. If you Bubba that thing it will be worthless.
