Grimscale, I hear ya'! I've been through this thought process myself. The decisions weren't easy to make. We left our Families back there, including Sons and their Families. But, we make it a point to come up there once, or twice a year to see everyone.

Because almost 20 years ago, before I knew better, I bought the 160 acre farm that was conected to my families 450 acres that my family has owned and worked for generations.Why, Why, Why, are people still living in and supporting that fucking state??
Then I started a business, found a great girl and was living the great life. To be honest, before Cuomo we started to notice the areas decline and alot of people moving away. Chautauqua Co is #1 on the list of counties where people are leaving.
Anyways, Cuomo has greatly intensified the downfall. Many people may not know but Cuomo hates farmers and small business for some reason, look into it.
I dont want to leave but I see no other option. Before I get old and broke id like to enjoy the place I live.

WOW! That certainly does make it tougher. Unfortunately, I don't know how it is going to get turned around. Even if cumho moves on, there will still be the problem of the downstate voters, compounded by the FUDDS, that will not go away! It SUCKS!
As a side note, we still hold a piece of property (WAAAAY smaller than yours!!) up on the Chautauqua Ridge. We are selling it through a Land Contract to a Buddy of mine. I always loved that little "slice of paradise" we had up there. That was probably the toughest thing we had to give up to make this move. BUT, it was worth it for us!
