Since you don't want to read up on Executive Orders, here's a slimmed down version.
An Executive Order has the force of law. But even it has checks and balances. The Courts can block a President's Executive Order. As an example, Trump signed many Executive Orders on Immigration that were blocked by the courts. Congress can also override an Executive Order.
DACA was an Executive Order. It wasn't blocked by the courts because the courts are liberal. That's how Obama got away with it. Trump cannot get away with it. He has no loyalty from either of the 2 Branches and the Circuit Courts.
That's why he's looking for other ways to get the funding required for the wall. Links were posted above showing that but some here don't like to read and prefer to bitch instead and delude themselves into thinking that the Courts and Congress would be loyal to Pence or Cruz instead.
Trump should just get the military behind him and just become a dictator already. That's what some here want.

He wanted Mexico to pay for the wall via tariffs and the like but it isn't happening. The Republican establishment isn't letting him through Congress. They also aren't letting him throught SCOTUS who refuses to take cases and appeals when a Circuit Court blocks his Executive Orders on Immigration. They won't let him do anything. They want people like you who are easily influenced to not vote for him next time around due to the failure they caused to make Trump look bad and instead vote for someone they can control like a Bush or Kasich and are willing to lose our freedoms now just so they can have control which currently they do not have over Trump.
How can you guys not see that? He should have gotten everything he wanted quickly through Congress. They have the majority for going nuclear and don't use it because they say they are afraid of a filibuster. Please. A filibuster always ends. It's nonsense.
