I am reasonably convinced that bad actors including antifa and possibly some of the police purposely hijacked the protest to cause maximum disaster. Mission accomplished.
On the other hand it does not excuse the trump fans that entered the building and caused damage. But that's what happens in a mob. Order quickly leads to chaos. Yet each individual is responsible for their own actions. The people who entered have unknowingly set their cause back for years to come. Even the Republicans want to see trump gone and his legacy ruined.
