I’m concerned and I believe unless we take drastic measures we are on this path.
Im concerned because I have a good bit of cash around that is currently being devalued. I had planned to buy a car with it but cars are too expensive and I refuse to pay $33,000 for a 2014 Camaro SS or mustang GT to lose my ass if I need to sell it.
We are headed down the wrong path for sure and this administration doesn’t have its finger on the pulse. Hell none of them did for the last 50 years but it will get bad and come due soon if we continue this path.

I have posted several articles on his subject over the last few months. ... Folks have no idea what could be coming... As bad as it could be another concerning factor is Taiwan ... There is a chip shortage due to the pandemic and drought....(a lot of water goes into making chips ) . Things like cars are at a standstill (stockpiled ) waiting on chips so they can be sold .. China is eyeing Taiwan to reabsorb it into the fold. (like Hong Kong ). Who knows WW3 could be on a horizon. Now cut off all trade with China.. see where we will sit. Just throwing this out there for a possibility folks .. We rely on reasonable energy cost .. Liberals are in the process of destroying the biggest economic input we have . Biden is begging OPEC for more oil... Energy makes the world go round ... It almost sounds like they have a plan to destroy everything we know .

Cash scares me for that reason. You could buy some inflation protected treasury bonds. You can buy at a low minimum and selling early incurs a trivial penalty: Individual - Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS)

America’s balls are way too shriveld to stand up to a real threat now. If China really wants Taiwan they can get it and we won’t do a thing. A trade war with China would require our consumers to possibly see shortages of the precious trash they buy from target and amazon. We can’t have that! We already lost to China. It’s just going to take another decade or two for the rest of the country to realize it. They are laughing their asses off at us. We can’t even have a national discussion that maybe the pandemic that we still have originated from us because it could offend China.

You know, lately I've been buying less on Amazon. Perfect example: I needed another small air compressor for the car tires (the one I have frayed at a weird point and I don't feel comfortable electrical taping it / covering with scotchkote on the area of the cord where it broke).

All the stuff listed on Amazon was garbage. Amazon is basically the Dollar General of the internet right now for me. You can always tell what you're looking at is garbage when 10 other listings look identical but with different colors and weird brand names.

I wound up just buying something name brand from Walmart for delivery cause they had it cheaper than autozone.

However, I think we are in an interesting position right now. It's very costly to move goods from China to the US right now, especially smaller quantities. We have a unique opportunity, due to the high cost of containers, to bring back domestic production. My wife's job moved all their production they did in China back to the USA due to the container prices.

If we were smart, we'd jump on the opportunity to build up American manufacturing and augment what is already happening naturally.

I miss getting decent interest rates on a savings account. Maybe the only plus side of inflation.

If I were king, we'd be treating china like we treat Cuba until they stop treating their people like livestock. The resulting discomfort would be relatively short lived.

So funny you mention that. I bought a Campbell Hausfeld small tire compressor around 2002. Used it until it finally died a couple months ago. I went to amazon and it’s endless rebranded same Chinese shit. I ended up getting a “hausbell” or some clearly bastardized version of the real one. It works but I do not expect it to work for 19 years.

Amazon is packed full of fake reviews. Generally I prefer to buy known brands that are actually stocked in stores if it’s something important.

Amazons reviews are so bad they are almost not worth looking at anymore.

In the end I just got the Walmart brand. It’s probably Chinese shit too, but at least I have a store I can return it to if it breaks in the first year and it doesn’t give money to Amazon / fosters competition.

Cost me about same as the crap on Amazon and the reviews were OK.

Spent half the cost as the SLIME one that broke from Autozone.

Must be something in the water. I just bought a new air compressor recently too as the old one finally crapped out and started oozing weird ass smelly black liquid (wish I were kidding).

For the record it was a Dewalt and it came from Home Depot.

And yeah, Amazon can suck it. It's to the point that if I want to buy a book I'll order it online from Barnes and Noble. That and if you go on Ebay they have just about everything Amazon has and often it's cheaper.

Im just hoping the economy stay's the way it is for another two months. I need to buy my RV before the economy tanks. I want to get the hell out of NY and get the solar put on the RV so we can boondock for a few months BEFORE we need to go to a town to buy groceries. Water and waste are of no concern, and I can hunt for small game. But if the dollars turns to shit, we want to be well away for any big towns

Someone showed me an interview clip recently of Obama saying he wishes, rather than being President longer, to instead have someone else in office while he was running the show from the comfort of his basement. I think he got his wish.
