I'd like to see a law put into place that minimum wage is back at $8 or $10/hr.
Paying stockboys (and other minimum wage jobs) $20+/hr isn't helping the economy.
Push the standards lower, and it should bring the prices back down. Won't be immediate, but it will eventually.

I’m sure this bag of groceries was selectively chosen. Yes inflation sucks and Biden is a terrible president but it’s 3.28 times more expensive and we’re all aware inflation isn’t 328% and more like 28% over those years. Yea 28% sucks and it should be around 8% but let’s not selectively choose numbers and be like the liberals.

Well, they don't show the receipt. But he does say that the same items from two years ago would now cost nearly 4x as much.
They also don't show the dates.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. Walmart is certainly not the cheapest place to shop. Same with Sam's. Yeah I know. Basically same thing.
All I know is, using the .gov numbers which are bullshit, I would have to get a 100% raise for my salary to equal the buying power of what I made in 2007.

Wally world sometimes plays games with prices. If the product is only available from one of the other sellers that walmart has on their site, you're at their mercy for pricing. Would definitely like to see this guys price breakdown.

I never said it wasn’t true for this very specific case but it could be false. I said the products or the receipt used was selectively chosen for this purpose is all and let’s not say that groceries have gone up this much over all because they have not. Have groceries gone up 30% or whatever yep but not 3.5 times what they were two years ago. Yea my grocery bill has gone up but not by that much.

Not sure how many of you still have young kids in the house, but the price increase really hits when it comes to things they eat. We don't go crazy on snacks, but things like kid lunches and juices are crazy expensive now. It is not surprising since most of those goods are purchased with EBT so only the working class see the hit. My wife shops evey 2 weeks..she gets the essentials (minus meat and some veggies since we raise/grow our own). She used to spend $150...now its $250+. Same stuff, same brand...and that factors in coupons and other measures in saving (we have cut some things out completely). Well over $100 increase in a few years. Not a Republican made up lie, we have the data with receipts.

For sure and I see it as well. My kids are 17 and 20 and my son had some friends over two weeks ago so we bought pizza and wings for the kids. We cash out and a sheet pizza with 50 wings was $94.50. $100 buck for some pizza and wings. So we told the kid do t expect this every week because it ai t happen kid. He gets it. No wonder the young people do not want to vote for Biden, how could they. These kids will never be able to get started.

As an amusing side note, as a little kid I remember my dad complaining when my mom said she needed more grocery money, she just couldn't feed a family of 5 on $35 a week anymore!

Local news was interviewing a farmer, highlighting their vegetable stand.
Said that with the dry summer so far, costs are up. Mostly because of the cost of fuel to run the irrigation pumps. Especially corn because of the amount of water needed

Cheapest this year I've seen is $1.29/lb.
I remember not long ago you could buy corn 12/$1.00. Now, sometimes you can find local corn in sale 4/$1.00 but regular price is 50¢ per.
I can't remember the last time I've bought any form of beef.
Local store will put meat on "manager special" when it's nearing its last sale date. That's when I stock up on chicken and pork chops. A few weeks ago I got whole chicken for 57¢/lb

- eggs are up 100% from last fall. Unit price last fall was around 10 - 11¢. Now 22¢.
- butter is up 30¢/lb since last week representing an 8% increase
Forget meat this week . Cheapest thing was drumsticks at $1.49/lb. and pork shoulder at the same. I did score some thick cut bacon for under $4/lb

Pre-covid, the chicken breast I buy at Maines was 75¢/lb (10 lbs or more). Mid-covid, it got as high as $3/lb. 1 year ago, it was $1.10/lb. Last month, it was $2/lb.

Butterfly sent me to Wegmans today to “pick up a few things”. Nectarines were on the list. I purchased 5 of them for $2.99/lb price was $7.52. WTF!! Organic nectarines were $4.99/lb. DOUBLE WTF!!
